Exmouth indie rock band The Summertides have chosen Derby as the setting for their new single, Shake, released today.
The video is shot mainly around Markeaton Park and Abbey Street and with the black and white aesthetic and ‘woman in hat’ evokes White Town‘s Your Woman vid of 20 years ago.
The location is not an entirely random pick as drummer Barclay Wood is originally from Burton on Trent and songwriter / lead vocalist Simon Richardson from Staffordshire. Having grown up in and around the Derby scene they wanted to return to their roots from where they are now based in the South West to film the video for their latest single.
With touches of the Stereophonics or The Kooks indie stylings the single is intended as part of a more intensive release schedule for the band, with a single a month, self-produced by Wood, on the cards.
