Derby Book Festival will launch its 2017 programme with an event at QUAD tomorrow (11 April 2017).
The festival, which aims to bring together Derby residents in a love of books and enthuse a new generation of readers, will be held at locations around the Cathedral Quarter and rest of the city between 9 and 17 June 2017. This is the third time the festival has taken place in Derby.
The launch event takes inspiration from Victorian Penny Readings to give tasters of some of the books which will be featured in this year’s festival. The event will also include the announcement of winners of the 50 Word Flash Fiction writing competition.
Events already announced for the Derby Book Festival include talks with Min Kim, Sebastian Faulks, Matt Sewell, John Hegley, Shappi Khorsandi, and Dan Cruikshank.
The launch event takes place between 6 and 9pm, is free to attend but requires booking.
