There is still time to get your films in for Derby Film Festival 2018 – early bird submission rates end today (5 January) but submissions can be made until 26 January 2018.
The ten-day festival will between 4 and 13 May and brings together film fans, filmmakers and industry experts. One of the leading regional film festival’s it has now been running for five years in the city.
The opening four days of the festival are turned over to genre weekend Paracinema which showcases the best in new genre cinema, classics and rare cinema curiosities while across the whole festival screenings, previews and showcase events with major figures from the world of film will be accompanied by panel discussions, workshops and masterclasses. Previous guests at the event have included Sir John Hurt, Jenny Agutter, Paddy Considine and Phil Davis as well as directors Mark Herman, Jake West, Peter Sasdy, John Hough, Waris Hussein and Michael Armstrong.
