Indietracks, due to be held at Midland Railway Centre in Ripley this July, has announced a stellar line-up for 2018 with main acts British Sea Power, Honeyblood, The Lovely Eggs, Dream Wife, Girl Ray and Sacred Paws set to take to the stage across the weekend.
In the first announcement of bands Happy Accidents, Let’s Whisper, Wolf Girl, Just Blankets, Dream Nails, Mikey Collins, Sink Ya Teeth, Tugboat Captain, The Baby Seals, Life Model, Cat Apostrophe, Strange New Places, Melenas, Panic Pocket, French Boutik, Ghum, Rebecka Reinhard, Tekla, Whitelands and The Sunset Beach Hut were also welcomed onto the bill with more yet to be announced.
Held between 27 and 29 July 2018 the DIY festival is across four stages at the heritage railway site and manages to be both niche and inclusive. Their line-up already challenges the status quo across the current festival scene, which remains stubbornly male and pale for the most part.
Reviewing last year’s festival for Storge, Pete Darrington said, “When it comes to festivals, the big guys could definitely learn something from the little guys. Indietracks has gone from strength to strength since it’s humble beginnings in 2007 and while I hope it continues to do so, I also hope it never loses sight of what makes it such a magical event – it’s small, perfectly formed and made with heaps of love.”
