Still time to apply for Furthest From The Sea bursary

There is just a week left for artists to apply for the Furthest From The Sea bursary to perform original and new work at the annual festival set to take place in the Cathedral Quarter on 16 June 2018.

Up to four Derbyshire individuals, groups or organisations could receive the bursaries which have been made possible after a successful Arts Council England National Lottery Bid. Matt McGuinness from Furthest From The Sea said, “The funding from Arts Council England will ensure we can build on the success of previous years, presenting original works made in Derbyshire and providing talks and workshops from industry professionals essential to supporting and nurturing grassroots artists in the area.”

Furthest From The Sea said applications must be for works which are ‘family friendly, able to be completed within the festival timescales and suitable to be performed outdoors in city centre locations.’ Applicants must supply a project synopsis, outline of costs and where possible, successful applicants will be given time with an industry professional to discuss and develop their ideas and practises.

Applications are invited from all art forms and must be received by 5pm on Monday 30 April 2018. For more information about the bursary scheme and to request an application form contact Eileen@furthestfromthesea.co.uk.
